The scanner has super signal reception without any background noise. When I finally got the scanner to work and set up to all the required channels from the police, fire department, and National Weather Service to name a few. ![]() I decided on buying myself a separate charger to keep the scanner ready to use when needed. The handheld works with three 2300MaH batteries and use your PC connected with the USB cable to charge it. Even, the buttons are rubber with noticeable labeling and the display covering seems curved and glossy. The scanner is tall, comes with a large display, and comes with a backlit display the casing it is made of quality plastic and feels well made. I read the manual and started setting it up and found it actually easy to use and in no time I was up and running. Looking at the scanner as it looked to me quite complicated to use came with a great user manual. When I received the Uniden BCD436HP and opened the box, it contained the handheld, the normal rubber duck antenna, USB cable, a hand strap, batteries, and SMA to BNC Adapter. ![]() My Findings regarding the Uniden BCD436HP ![]() I needed a scanner that would scan digital, analog, and Trunking systems and boy was I surprised by this handheld. I recently bought the Uniden BCD436HP HomePatrol Series Digital Handheld Scanner to replace one I bought from Radio Shack many moons ago and when comparing them it is like night and day.
